El Patio History in Santa Rosa, CA.
In 1979, Emiliano Ochoa arrived to the United States with only the clothes on his back and a few dollars. He had a dream that seemed could never be reached. His first job was in San Diego at a small Mexican restaurant were he worked washing dishes, preparing food and busing tables. He worked there for two years in order to make enough money to move to Santa Rosa were he had his brothers. Once he moved to Santa Rosa, he worked at Vineyards Inn. There with a lot of hard work and determination he got the position as head cook. While working at the Vineyards Inn, Emiliano became determined to start a business of his own. He wanted to start a business not only to better himself but so his brothers could learn from him and begin their own businesses as well. Emiliano worked hard to save money and in 1990 El Patio Mexican Restaurant was born. The first couple of years were hard working fifteen hours a day and struggling with his broken English. After two years, El Patio was a success and in 1995 Emiliano helped his brothers Sergio and Cristobal to open El Patio #2. Then in 2003 his brothers Cristobal and Jose opened Su Casa Mexican Restaurant. In the end Emiliano accomplished his dream and more than he ever imagined. El Patio has been thriving for eighteen years now and we thank you the public for your continuing patronage to the Ochoa Legacy.
